Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS)

The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) supports children and adolescents who need specialist interdisciplinary rehabilitation. This includes access to services, when they need it, and in the most appropriate location.  

Who we care for

To be eligible for the VPRS, the young person will: 

  • be aged between 0-18 years 
  • have an acquired injury, medical/surgical impairment, or functional impairment 
  • have moderate to high complexity rehabilitation needs, and/or require time-limited and goal-focused programs 
  • require an interdisciplinary team approach to achieve their rehabilitation goals 

What you can expect

We offer a range of options, and therapy can be provided in the home, school, or community, depending on what works for you. 

Our VPRS services include: 

  • rehabilitation paediatrics 
  • neuropsychology 
  • occupational therapy 
  • physiotherapy 
  • social work 
  • speech pathology 
  • prosthetics and orthotics 

Examples of support offered by VPRS

  • returning to home, school, sport, and hobbies 
  • reconnecting with peers after hospitalisation 
  • intensive rehabilitation post-orthopaedic surgery 
  • BOTOX clinic 
  • reconditioning post-illness 
  • assessment clinic for advice on treatment and intervention 

BOTOX and assessment clinics run on Fridays.
