MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses a strong magnet and radiofrequency energy to create images of the body's soft tissues, including muscles, nerves, brain, discs, ligaments, and cartilage.

Who we care for

We provide services to anyone requiring an MRI.

What you can expect

  • Safety Questionnaire: Before your MRI, you'll need to complete a Safety Questionnaire. This helps us determine if it's safe to proceed with your MRI. It is important that all questions are answered accurately.
  • Contrast and Blood Tests: If contrast is needed for your MRI, you may need a blood test prior to your appointment. Our staff will let you know if this is required.
  • Fasting: Some MRI scans may require fasting. Our staff will inform you when you book your appointment.
  • Removing Metal Objects: Before your scan you will need to remove all metal objects from your body.
  • Clothing: Before your scan you will be asked to remove your clothes and change into a hospital gown

During the scan you'll lie inside the scanner's tunnel. The MRI will make loud tapping noises, so earplugs and headphones are provided. You can also listen to music during some scans, if you like.
