Victorian Government appoints Rob Knowles Board Chair of Grampians Health
Grampians Health is pleased to announce that the Victorian Government has appointed of Hon. Rob Knowles AO as Chair of the Board, following his tenure as Interim Chair. This appointment supports Grampians Health’s continued commitment to delivering exceptional care through robust, community-focused leadership.

“Rob’s leadership, experience, regional connections, and deep understanding of the health landscape have been invaluable during the last few months. His confirmation as Chair ensures continuity and a strong strategic focus as we move into the next phase of our growth while we continue to make care accessible to our communities. We are fortunate to have someone of his calibre guiding our board.”
Mr Knowles brings a wealth of experience in health governance and public service to his current role. A former Victorian Minister for Health and Aged Care, he served in the Victorian Parliament from 1976 to 1999, including as Deputy Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council. His extensive leadership includes roles as Commissioner of the National Health and Hospital Reform Commission, Chair of the Royal Children’s Hospital Board, and Chair of the Victorian Health Reform and Innovation Council.
In addition to Grampians Health, Mr Knowles also serves on the boards of Silverchain, Beyond Blue, and Great Ocean Road Health, reflecting his deep commitment to improving health outcomes across Australia.

Grampians Health was established on November 1, 2021 after Edenhope & District Memorial Hospital, Stawell Regional Health, Wimmera Health Care Group and Ballarat Health Services came together, to deliver high-quality, accessible and sustainable healthcare services closer to home.
