Chief Operating Officer Hospitals Ben Kelly

Chief Operating Officer

Ben has worked exclusively in public health services throughout his career, commencing in mental health before moving to acute and subacute public health environments

Having grown up in country Victoria himself, Ben and his wife Sarah moved from metropolitan Melbourne in 2005 and have raised their own children in the Grampians region.

Ben has a strong focus on equitable health care across the age spectrum. Always mindful of the disparity in the availability of high-quality public health care, Ben is a strong advocate for regionalsed health care, promoting a strong focus on service planning, and collaboration to ensure care is delivered in the right place at the right time. His passion for regional communities is obvious, as is desire to see a significant increase in the level of services provided to people in their own home.

Ben is the Chair of Compassionate Ballarat, a group of common minded community members actively promoting the science of compassion and the many benefits it creates. Compassion in leadership is one of Ben’s key interests, alongside the promotion of leadership delivered through all levels of Grampians Health.
